So what is Webmail? Webmail is basically a “peak” into your “inbox in waiting” out stored on the world wide web. If you use POP3 with PC software like outlook (express), Windows Live Mail and other email clients … then generally that storage drawer is emptied each time you run your PC email software. If your PC software is set up for IMAP then your PC only “mirrors” what it finds (in those folders out on the web) and not actually move files away so you can use several computers to check just one account. If you don’t ever use a PC for email retrieval (other then your web browser).
Which method you use to handle your email depends on a few things. Do you want it all in one place? or do you need access from multiple computers? Do you prefer it be in your physically possession? (on your pc?) or would you rather risk it out in a room on the web so when the PC dies your email will still be somewhere? Do you find yourself never home, Maui one week, Paris the next, and need your head on so you can look at records of what you sent and get at them when you are far from any PC you might own?
Answers to these questions dictate if you are a POP, IMAP or Webmail user. For more there is Secure POP and Secure IMAP methods during PC setup but for sure it is just good hygiene to use the SSL connection for https://www.westilmall.com/webmail/ to keep your sessions safe in case someone is monitoring your connection. We like to keep you “banking level secure” even if you are only passing on silly youtube links.
NEW hosting here as “storage limits” so you do want to clean out the trash or you can potentially have a mailbox get too full and new messages in fact bounce until you empty it a bit. Sorry about that but a clean house is a healthy house.
